AirAsia serves exquisite Southern Thai menu onboard from July including brand-new longan-inspired dishes in support of local farmers

Bangkok, 30 June 2025 – AirAsia is turning up the heat for its guests on both Thai AirAsia (FD) and Thai AirAsia X (XJ) flights with the launch of its “Bold Southern Thai Flavors” inflight menu, available for a limited time from July to September 2025.

Ms. Ornanong Methapipattanakul, Director of in-flight products and services for Thai AirAsia said: “In support of local fruit farmers, Thai AirAsia is partnering the Department of Internal Trade of the Ministry of Commerce, to further elevate their produce into premium inflight dishes.

“This season we are bringing the bold flavors of the South onboard, featuring spicy, flavorful dishes guaranteed to satisfy the cravings of many. Longan is our star ingredient this time and we’ll be switching to other seasonal fruits in the months to come.”

With prices starting from just THB 100, the special menu includes "Southern Yellow Curry Seafood with Basil Omelets" and "Kua Kling Kai with Sunny Salted Egg".

For appetizers, guests should not miss out on the reimagined favorite: "Hat Yai Fried Chicken with Longan Sauce" and to cool things down, sip on the refreshing and sweet "O-Aew Fresh Longan Fruit", a southern-style iced dessert drink that hits the spot.

“Meanwhile, especially on Thai AirAsia X (XJ) flights, two new Japanese-style delights will be making their way into its international Inflight menu in July.“

All these new dishes are now available on both domestic and international routes of Thai AirAsia and Thai AirAsia X from 1 July 2025. Pre-booking is available from 16 July 2025 onwards — so guests can be guaranteed of their favorite meal onboard and save on their purchase.

The zesty "Southern Yellow Curry Seafood with Basil Omelets" is a vibrant dish featuring chunky sea bass and juicy shrimp in a bold Southern-style curry, paired with a fragrant basil-infused Thai omelet.

Spice lovers will enjoy "Kua Kling Kai with Sunny Salted Egg" — stir-fried minced chicken with southern curry paste and herbs, topped with a rich salted fried egg for a mouthwatering balance of heat and flavor.

For something fun and unique, Hat Yai Fried Chicken with Longan Sauce offers a crispy favorite paired with AirAsia’s exclusive sweet longan glaze. Sweet lovers can sip on the refreshing "O-Aew Fresh Longan Fruit", a beloved dessert from Phuket made with jelly, juicy longan, goji berries, and Job’s tears — the perfect chewy-sweet treat to enjoy at 30,000 feet!

Apart from the above new dishes, Thai AirAsia X (XJ flights) will also be serving two Japanese-style delights - - "Gyudon", thinly sliced marbled beef simmered in savory Japanese sauce, and "Ebi Zaru Soba" – cold soba noodles served with shrimp and traditional dipping sauce.
