AirAsia launches three new routes from Suvarnabhumi to Surat Thani, Narathiwat and Buri Ram, strengthening dual-airport connectivity from Bangkok
Promotional fares from only THB 950 one-way now available on the AirAsia MOVE

Thai AirAsia (FD) has expanded its domestic network with the launch of three new routes from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), connecting Bangkok to Surat Thani, Narathiwat, and Buri Ram. The airline now operates daily flights to Surat Thani and Narathiwat, and three weekly flights to Buri Ram (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays), further strengthening its connectivity across key regions of Thailand.
The launch marks a significant milestone in AirAsia’s ongoing domestic expansion strategy and reinforces its dual-airport operations in Bangkok. As the only low-cost carrier operating out of both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang (DMK), AirAsia offers guests enhanced convenience, increased frequency, and flexible travel options across its growing network.
Inaugural flights to the three destinations were marked with welcome activities and giveaways at Suvarnabhumi and the respective destination airports.
To commemorate the launch, Thai AirAsia is offering special promotional all-in fares starting from just THB 950 one-way, available for booking until 31 July 2025 for travel between 1 July and 31 December 2025 via airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly airasia Superapp).
Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Chief Executive Officer of Thai AirAsia, said: “This expansion from Suvarnabhumi underscores our continued efforts to strengthen access to secondary cities and better serve the evolving needs of Thai travellers. Surat Thani, Narathiwat and Buri Ram are important cultural and economic gateways, and we are proud to provide more affordable, reliable access to these communities.
“Our dual-airport presence in Bangkok is a strategic advantage that allows us to maximise accessibility while supporting tourism, trade and local mobility. With five aircraft currently based at Suvarnabhumi—and plans to add another by year-end—we are confident in the long-term growth potential of this hub.
Looking ahead, Thai AirAsia will continue to grow its Suvarnabhumi base with two additional domestic routes launching on 1 October 2025—to Chiang Rai and Nakhon Si Thammarat. These additions will bring the total number of domestic destinations served from Suvarnabhumi to 11, including Chiang Mai, Krabi, Hat Yai, Phuket, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Surat Thani, Narathiwat, Buri Ram, Chiang Rai, and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
“With 22 routes from Don Mueang and a range of 8 cross-country connections, Thai AirAsia now operates the most comprehensive domestic network in Thailand, serving 41 routes with up to 118 flights daily.
This expansion follows AirAsia’s recent recognition as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the 16th consecutive year by Skytrax, and Thai AirAsia’s ranking as Thailand’s most on-time airline in 2024, as reported by Cirium—a testament to the airline’s commitment to delivering world-class quality and unbeatable value.
