AirAsia Returns to Vientiane and Luang Prabang of Laos! Say Sabaidee from Only 1,990 THB

BANGKOK, 19 May 2022 – AirAsia continues its resumption of flight routes in celebration of national reopening policies and the relaxation of entry requirements, bringing back two much anticipated routes of Bangkok (Don Mueang) – Vientiane and Bangkok – Luang Prabang of Laos.. From 1 June, 2022 onward, simply present proof of vaccination to fly, as COVID-19 testing and quarantine requirements have been lifted. Members can book from only 1,990 THB one way from now – 22 May, 2022 for travel from 1 June, 2022 – 25 March, 2023 via the airasia Super App.

Santisuk Klongchaiya, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Thailand, stated that “The response has been consistently positive as AirAsia has continued to resume flights and new routes in line with national reopening policies and Thailand welcoming vaccinated travelers by lifting COVID-19 testing and quarantine requirements. With more convenience and lower costs for travel, AirAsia is forging ahead and resuming these two popular routes to Laos simultaneously. Flying to Vientiane twice weekly (Wednesday and Sunday), travelers will be able to once again experience the Laotian capital, pray at Pha That Luang and dine at the city’s trendy cafes from 1 June2022. In addition, AirAsia will be flying three times a week to Luang Prabang, (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) a World Heritage City renowned for its numerous Buddhist temples and natural wonders from 2 July 2022.

“AirAsia Thailand is currently flying to eight countries on 20 routes, or over 20 percent of our pre-COVID-19 network, supporting a strong recovery in the tourism sector. Passengers are looking to travel to many ASEAN market destinations in particular, as flights are shorter and travel costs are lower. At the same time, we are seeing an opportunity to welcome back international travelers to Thailand, which is why we are planning to increase flight frequencies and routes to meet the strong and growing demand” Mr. Santisuk said.

AirAsia is currently operating flights to eight countries on 20 routes, namely; direct from Bangkok to Laos (Vientiane, Luang Prabang), Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang), Cambodia (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Indonesia (Bali, Johor Bahru), Singapore, India (Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Jaipur) and the Maldives, as well as direct from Phuket to Singapore and direct from Hat Yai to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur). All of the routes allow for travel without the need to quarantine and are being operated under AirAsia’s stringent health and safety measures.
