Thai AirAsia Drives Society Towards Sustainability at Sustainability Expo 2025

Thai AirAsia continued its mission to create a sustainable future for both people and the planet at Sustainability Expo 2025 (SX2025), ASEAN’s largest sustainability event, held from 26 September to 5 October 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). The event, themed “Sufficiency for Sustainability: Balance, Sustainability, For All,” welcomed over 900,000 visitors across 10 days.
At the event, Thai AirAsia presented the "AirAsia's Green Journey" exhibition, showcasing its commitment to sustainable business practices. The exhibit highlighted the airline's approaches to reducing environmental impact at every stage of the travel journey, from pre-boarding to landing. These initiatives include reducing single-use plastics, optimising fleet efficiency, waste management, and raising environmental awareness amongst employees and passengers. All of these efforts reflect AirAsia's goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050.
At its exhibition booth, a key highlight was Journey D – an initiative focused on raising awareness and building capacity within local communities to support sustainable tourism, while also improving the quality of life for people in those areas.
In addition, the AirAsia Foundation is driving positive social change by supporting local communities through grants, consultancy, and network-building, focusing on sustainable travel guide map and adaptation to climate change, the event also features activities for visitors of all ages to enjoy, such as a photo booth and a claw machine.
On 26 September 2025, Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Chief Executive Officer of Thai AirAsia, joined a high-level panel discussion titled “Smart Logistics – Towards a Connected Transport System”, where he exchanged insights with leading representatives from the public and private sectors on developing sustainable logistics and transport systems.
“We must pass on a better society, a better country, and a better world to future generations. What we can do today is to help, develop, and collaborate to make our cities smarter and more livable — not only for us but for those who come after us. This is everyone’s shared responsibility, and strong cooperation between the private and public sectors is key to making it happen,” said Mr. Santisuk.
Additionally, on 4 October 2025, Ms. Yap Mun Ching, Chief Sustainability Officer of Capital A, also took part in the Chief Sustainability Officers (CSO) Forum under the theme “Corporate Sustainability Driving Business Growth: How Sustainability Creates Competitive Advantage and Long-Term Value.” She shared her global perspectives on advancing corporate sustainability and its crucial role in building long-term business value and competitive advantage, which drew strong interest and positive engagement from attendees.
