Thai AirAsia Drives 'Journey D' Project Forward, Joining Forces with TAT for 'Village to the World Season 5' in Songkhla

Thai AirAsia is advancing its "Journey D" project under the "Village to the World Season 5" initiative by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), partnering 9 corporate partners in total. The project is aimed to drive sustainable tourism by transforming 9 nationwide Royal Project sites into high-quality tourist destinations. This project honours the royal legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, whilst empowering local communities and revitalising the environment.

22 May 2026 - TAT Governor, Miss Thapanee Kiatphaibool officially kicked off the "Village to the World Season 5" project at Baan Sa Juk-Sa Kiang in Nan Province. Thai AirAsia and other corporate partners participated in the launch by building check dams to reduce water flow, retain soil moisture, and trap sediment. This hands-on effort restores the local ecosystem whilst strengthening the community to support long-term sustainable tourism.

This July, Thai AirAsia will visit Songkhla Province to develop a tourism route in collaboration with the “Klong Hoi Khong Royal Project Farm” and the “Ecotourism Songkhla Thailand Community Enterprise (Hua Khao, Singhanakhon)”—a recognised model community. By leveraging local resources, this initiative aims to elevate community products and services, driving vital revenue distribution and economic opportunities alleviating the recent floods.

Furthermore, the airline plans to extend its promotion of local attractions and community products through the project’s partner network. This initiative aims to broaden awareness among both Thai and international tourists, whilst supporting long-term sustainable revenue generation within the community.
